A chance to learn is a chance to hope.

We keep children learning with books in their hands, help with school fees, and visits to the communities and camps where families are.

01About LEF

About LEF

Learningaid Educational Foundation exists for one reason: so that a child’s education never depends on circumstance. We put books into young hands, help families meet school fees, and show up in person, in communities and in camps for displaced families.

Vision

  1. To ensure that the less privileged have access to quality school books, story books, novels and motivational books that will help develop their intellect and enhance a reading culture.
  2. To give every disadvantaged child a fair chance to be educated, ensuring that no child is out of school due to lack of finance.

Aims and objectives

  1. To identify and help the less privileged children in public schools and in society who do not have access to good quality books. We make the learning resources available.
  2. To empower students from indigent families with academic scholarships.
  3. To empower intelligent children and young adults to have a reading culture that will enhance skills acquisition for self-reliance, and to organize programs they can participate in.
  4. To donate school books and story books to local school libraries, to enhance the schools’ image and encourage a reading culture. Also to donate school bags, stationery, exercise books, sandals and new uniforms to as many as may have need of them.
  5. To embark on developmental projects in schools, marketplaces and places of worship, aimed at fostering the reading culture of children, adolescents, youths, young adults and the community at large.
  6. To support the humanitarian response in the education and child protection sector.
  7. To collaborate with other foundations with similar objectives to achieve SDG 4, leaving no one behind.

LEF is the educational foundation of Learningaid Integrated Concepts.

Chapter 01 · Outreach

Learning goes
where families are.

Some children cannot come to learning, so we go to them, to IDP camps and communities in and around Abuja.

A visit brings books, school materials and time with people who want them to keep going.

Chapter 02 · Books & learning resources

A book
of their own
opens a door.

We collect and deliver books and learning materials to children who have few or none, so reading can happen at home, not only at school.

Chapter 03 · Education sponsorship

A fee paid
keeps a future
open.

When school fees go unpaid, a child is sent home. We help cover fees so that children stay in the classroom and keep their place.

Staying in school is where every other possibility begins.

03Impact

Education should not depend on circumstance.

  • 01 Children kept in school Learners whose fees LEF has helped cover.
  • 02 Books in young hands Books and learning materials delivered.
  • 03 Communities reached Places visited in person, including IDP camps.
  • 04 Families supported Households helped to keep a child learning.

These are the things we measure. Numbers appear here only once each one has been counted and checked. We would rather say less than say something untrue.

05Stories

Behind every visit
is a child, a family,
a community.
